Sri Lanka bring in Sadeera Samarawickrama for Pakistan ODIs
Sri Lanka have drafted in top-order batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama into their ODI squad after conceding a 0-2 lead to Pakistan in the ongoing five-match series, in UAE. The hosts won the first ODI in Dubai by 83 runs and the second game in Abu Dhabi by 32 runs, making the third game on Wednesday (October 18) a must-win affair for the Sri Lankans.
Samarawickrama, who made his Test debut in Abu Dhabi, was supposed to fly to the Caribbean to represent Sri Lanka A, but issues in obtaining visas had held him back in Colombo.
"We found that the left-handers we have are struggling against off-spinners, so we thought of drafting in another right-hander," an SLC official told to us..
Samarawickrama will arrive in UAE on Wednesday morning. He is unlikely to play the third ODI but will be in contention for the last two games in Sharjah
